Optima Infosystems Sdn Bhd (Optima) was incorporated in May 2003 as an IT Solutions company, providing a portfolio of IT services to clients.
In line with our strategy to diversify in terms of both geography and industry, Optima established a subsidiary company, Optima International Business Sdn Bhd (Optima International), in December 2011 to handle our diversification initiatives.
Subsequently in August 2012, Optima International established a joint-venture company, Chaoketh-Optima (Cambodia) Co., Ltd with the Chaoketh-Thamapol group to expand our footprint into Cambodia and the Indo-Chinese region.
In February 2013 Optima acquired a 30% equity stake in AidCom, a Norwegian technology and media company with offices in Norway, Malaysia, Mexico and Ethiopia. AidCom specialises in travel security, and have developed mobile alert services and crisis communication systems for organisations with international travel activity.
IT solutions remain as our core business in Malaysia, and our mission is to be a niche, boutique IT solutions provider and software house, developing Malaysian Knowledge Workers with competencies comparable to any multi-national corporation. Our flagship project is the MyKad project of the National Registration Department of Malaysia, where we provided the application software and continue to provide application enhancements and maintenance support nationwide.
Our main area of focus in IT is in software application development, project management consultancy and IT Business Consulting (IT Audit and IT Blueprinting).
